CV Baseball High School Fundraiser / Update 2021-03-24

The high school baseball program is raising funds to get needed supplies and equipment for this upcoming season.  We all have players that need clean uniforms, so why don't you get your detergent from our high school boys!  This is a great way to support our older players with something you were going to buy anyway!

CV Baseball Smoketown and Witmer Field Day / Update 2021-03-23

Calling all Tee Ball, Rookies, and Rec Parents!  We are in need of some help to get our Smoketown and Witmer fields ready for the start of practice next week.  This Saturday, March 27th at 8a we will be holding our Field Day for those two fields.

With COVID-19 our access to Smoketown was very restricted and therefore some of our normal maintenance was unable to be performed.  We are going to need the help in raking out the fields after we till the infields on Friday.  Bring garden rakes, shovels, a wheelbarrow, and some trash bags.  Any handy people are more than welcome to spot a lose screw, bolt, or nail that needs fixed too.  We’ll take that too.  Lastly, if someone with a four wheeler wants to bring it closer to noon to nail drag the fields, that would be a huge advantage.  Once we till, rake out a little, the fields will need drug out to get them playable.

At Witmer we’re looking for a small tiller to work the tee ball field base paths.  Also, we need garden rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows as well.  Overall the fields are in a little better shape than Smoketown, but there are plenty of weeds to be pulled, trash cans to be laid out, and raking to be done.

Many hands make for light work.  We’ll take you for as long as you can help.  And, it won’t take very long with enough volunteers.  Getting these fields playable is for your player’s benefit and makes his/her experience all the better.  If you have experience w/ prepping baseball fields, we especially covet your help.

We’d like to break down the work as follows:

  • Start Time8a
  • Tee Ball & RookiesSmoketown
  • RecWitmer

Reach out with any questions.  We will have leaders at both fields providing direction.

We’re looking to fill out a few spots to have nicely balanced teams for a fun spring of baseball across our Tee Ball, Rookies, and 10U/11U levels. Spring 2021 Travel Program Evaluations / Update 2021-01-08

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow and Sunday at Evaluations.  Below is some detailed information about evaluations and Keystone State Sports required waiver to participate.  Please arrive close to the actual start time (or wait in the car until that time).

For all players taking part on our travel teams, we hold evaluations to best place each player on a team.  It is understood that issues around COVID19 may make it more difficult for players to attend.  Additionally, we are aware of players who have other scheduled/planned activities that prevent them from coming.  All of this will be taken into consideration when forming Spring travel teams.  These evaluations are for travel players only.

Travel Player Evaluations will be held at Keystone State Sports on January 9, 2021 and January 10, 2021.  The times are as follows:

  • Saturday, January 9, 2021– 11a to 4p / Infield/Outfield and Pitching
    • 14U – 11a to 12.30p
    • 12U – 12.30p to 2p
    • 10U – 2p to 3.30p
  • Sunday, January 10, 2021– 12p to 3p / Hitting
    • 14U – 12p to 1p
    • 12U – 1p to 2p
    • 10U – 2p to 3p

Players will be evaluated on Hitting, Fielding, and Pitching.  We will NOT evaluate catchers for 2021 due to minimizing equipment sharing.  We encourage all players to bring their own equipment.  CV Baseball will provide a few bats and helmets that will be sanitized between uses for players who do not have a helmet or bat.

Please see Keystone State Sports COVID-19 Guidelines before coming to Evaluations but here are some key points:

  • A mask must be worn at ALL TIMES while in the facility, including during the workouts
  • Temperature checks of each participant as they enter the facility (a temp of 100.4 or higher cannot be admitted)
  • No parents/guardians/spectators are allowed in the facility - this is to limit the number of people inside - They may use the restrooms, if needed.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility and we encourage everyone to use it
  • Daily cleaning of high-touch areas and electrostatic disinfectant is frequently used throughout the facility
  • Water fountains are closed
  • All participants must have a KS Sports Waiver Form completed PRIOR to participating at the facility (click here for the web form). Please forward the following link to each participant to complete. This will be submitted electronically to me and I will keep a list of all signed waivers. Have them list "CV Youth Baseball" as their team/event.

We look forward to this weekend so we can begin getting ready for the Spring 2021 Season!

2021 Spring Baseball Registration and Evaluations / Update 2021-01-03

Happy New Year! Conestoga Valley Baseball is reaching out to remind you that Spring Registration is open and Evaluations are just a week away.  Head on over to conestogavalleybaseball.com/springball to get your player signed up and, for our travel players, get the information you need for Evaluations this weekend.

As a reminder, we need EVERYONE to register for the 2021 Spring Season through our registration site.  Those who forwarded their fees from 2020 received a discount code per player to the email of ‘Parent 1’ in our registration system. Use that code to cover the registration cost.  Please note for those w/ multiple players, you must register them one at a time starting w/ the largest discount code.  All others can simply register their player through the registration portal and make payment at that time.  All information about the 2021 Spring season, registration, payment, safety, contingency plans will be on our Spring Ball section of our website: conestogavalleybaseball.com/springball.

The following is the schedule for our 10U, 12U, and 14U TRAVEL player evaluations.  The evaluations will be held Keystone State Sports (662 Ditz Dr, Manheim, PA 17545) on the following dates:

  • Saturday, January 9, 2021 – 11a to 4p / Infield/Outfield and Pitching/Catching
    • 14U – 11a to 12.30p
    • 12U – 12.30p to 2p
    • 10U – 2p to 3.30p
  • Sunday, January 10, 2021 – 12p to 3p / Hitting
    • 14U – 12p to 1p
    • 12U – 1p to 2p
    • 10U – 2p to 3p
  • Sunday, January 31, 2021 – 1p to 5p / TBD

Anticipate evals taking ~90m for pitchers and catchers, but only ~60m for those to do not pitch or catch.  Please make sure your player brings his glove, helmet, bat, and other baseball gear as needed.  The league will have some bats and helmets for those who do not have their own.

We will be following Keystone State Sports COVID-19 Rules & Guidelines.  Please refer to this site for more specific information, but at a high-level consider the following:

  • Do not bring your player if he is sick.
  • Face masks are to be worn at all times in the building.
  • No parents/fans/spectators will be allowed in the building – only Players, Coaches, & Board Representatives.

We’re still looking to fill out our coaching ranks.  If you’re unsure about coaching or have questions, please reach out.  We’d be glad to talk to you about it.

Attached you will find a flier with all the important details, or head on over to our website for even more information.  We hope to see your player this weekend!

CV Baseball 2021 Spring Season Registration Status / Update 2020-12-15

Conestoga Valley Baseball is reaching out to provide further instruction on how we will handle the 2021 Spring Baseball Registration this season.

Every player needs to register regardless of whether or not s/he forward his/her registration from last year.  The payment and timing part will be the only function that changes.  Head over to conestogavalleybaseball.com/springball to register.

  • For those of you who forwarded your registration from Spring 2020, in the coming days you will receive a personal discount code by email per player that will cover the registration cost and fundraiser fee resulting in a $0 payment at ‘checkout’.
  • For those of you who were refunded or are new to the program, please register and pay as normal.

Again, we realize that much is changing constantly due to COVID19.  CV Baseball will communicate what we know and what we decide whenever we have that information.  We are still very confident that there will be a season, but getting to that season since we start so early in the winter may be a little different.  The best resource for information will be our website: conestogavalleybaseball.com.
